Meet the team…
Who We Are
Our team have experience working with challenging behaviour, young people with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as individuals with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
MM Mentoring uses therapeutic oversight and staff are supervised regularly in conjunction with a qualified therapist.
We are adaptable and have broad experience with young people that have experienced significant trauma. Our employee training package requires completion relevant courses covering, but not limited to:
Safeguarding,
Health and safety,
First aid,
Positive behavioural support,
Trauma informed care,

Jacob Marsh
Safeguarding Lead, Operations Manager
Jacob is co-founder of MM Mentoring. He is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and holistic approach to mentoring.
Jacob has over a decade of experience of working with children and young people. With management expertise in care homes, supported accommodation and safeguarding in schools.
He see’s the value in sports, music and animal interventions as positive behaviour support as a way of getting children back engaged in education and reduce possibility of exclusions.
In his spare time Jacob is a keen rugby player and coach in Gloucester.

Harry McNeil
Business Manager
Harry is co-founder of MM Mentoring, partnering with long time friend and mentor Jacob.
Harry has experience of working in supported accommodation and rugby coaching as well as knowing first hand the positive impact mentoring has for young people.
His strengths include doing outdoor interventions to help young people learn new, vocational and social skills.
Harry has a keen interest in drama, history and sports and likes to inspire children and young people to work hard, to achieve and to succeed.
Outside of work Harry likes to play rugby and perform in plays. Otherwise, Harry can be found at home with his three cats, Milly, Billy and Basil.

Reece Lusmore
Senior Mentor
Having worked with children for a number of years, Reece has joined MM Mentoring as a senior mentor.
He has a true passion for being involved in the development of young minds, wanting to aid them in achieving as much from life as possible.
Reece specialises in working in SEND and SEMH environments helping the young people thrive.
Reece spends his free time in the gym, socialising, gaming or riding his motorcycle.

Jade Kilbey
Animal Education, Interventions and Therapy.
Jade is a qualified veterinary nurse with a passion for providing animal education and therapy.
She brings a calming and nurturing outlook, aiming to educate children on how to interact with, look after and care for animals.
Jade’s bespoke 1-2-1 mentoring offers young people the opportunity for individual, private sessions engaging with animals at their own pace, whether it be with household pets, or farmyard animals.
When Jade is not at work she loves reading and playing with her two cats and two dogs.

Nelly
Therapy Dog
Everybody’s favourite team member Nelly is often found visiting young people with Jacob or helping with Pet education and intervention with Jade.
Nelly is gentle and playful and loves taking young people out for walks, teaching them how to groom, strokes and cuddles, and most importantly treats.
At home, Nelly loves naps, snoring and playing with her sister Nala and her brother Albus.

Leila Rowlands
Mentor
Our resident baker, Leila (Lei for short!), is originally from west Wales, where she gets her love for the beach from, having fond memories of taking her two dogs for walks along the sand.
A typical Sunday for Leila involves making lovely food, hot drinks, and Harry Potter!

Tom Warner
Mentor
Tommy has played and coached rugby for a number of years, originally starting at Gloucester academy.
Tom specialises is SEND support and working with high need individuals. He is an integral part of our team, leading our programmed mentoring with young people to transition them back into training or education.
Tom has four little ones running around at home, and jokes that he comes to work for a bit of peace!

Ashton Adams
Mentor
We had too many rugby players so thought the next obvious choice was a football coach!
Ashton has been a Bristol city academy youth coach for a number of years and is currently completing his teacher training at university.
Ashton uses his wealth of sporting knowledge and skill to achieve positive outcomes with the children we work with through the medium of exercise, health and wellbeing.

Nick Bennett
Mentor
Although the youngest member of the team, Nick is dedicated to making a lasting impact within supporting young people, and currently has 1 year of experience working with young people in an SEN specialist provision.
Nick firmly believes that each child has a gift, and often that young people haven’t been given the opportunity to find that gift yet. He provides a nurturing, social and active approach to supporting young people, whilst teaching them essential life skills to keep them on the right track.
Outside work, you could probably find Nick DJing / producing music, watching live sports, cooking or hosting music events.

Liam Ward
Mentor
Originally from New Zealand, Liam joins the team with a genuine passion for supporting young people to find their own path and believes in using a person-centred approach—focusing on each individual’s strengths to help them follow their passions.
He has a diverse background in the youth sector, having worked as a Health and Disability Advocate and as an Activities Facilitator for young people with SEND and SEMH needs. Liam’s experience also includes working at a summer camp in the US and time spent volunteering with StarJam, where he helped children with disabilities express themselves through performance.
He is dedicated to creating a space where young people feel empowered to unleash their potential at their own pace. Liam enjoys seeing the positive impact that consistent, strengths-based support can have on a young person's confidence and wellbeing.
In his spare time, Liam enjoys travelling and bouldering.

Will Pinnell
Mentor
After finishing his accounting degree at the University of Gloucestershire, Will began his career of working with young people.
When he was younger, Will starred for England U16s 7s team, as well as stints for London Irish and Wasps!
Will loves sharing his passion for sport with young people from all walks of life, and is currently working in our school mentorship programme.
Outside of work, Will is more often than not sat on his Playstation or cooking delicious food with his girlfriend.
